Now is the Time to Pray
It is important for Christians to remember the urgings of the Apostle Paul through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit to pray "for kings, and for all that are in authority" (I Timothy 2:1-2). Despite the disappointment or excitement we might experience about the men and women God raised up to lead our nation, we should remember to uphold them in prayer "that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty." Pray for President Barack Obama and all your Congressional, state, and local officials; that they would serve our nation with wisdom and integrity. But make sure you are also faithful to watch these officials carefully and hold them accountable, which is your responsibility with the authority you posses as a voting citizen.
