Our Director
Dr. Carl Herbster has a varied background that helps him better understand the people and issues of our day. At 18 years of age he became convinced of his need for salvation and went to the Bible for answers. He read the book of Romans, repented of his sins, and trusted Jesus Christ as his Savior (Romans 3:28). Dr. Herbster believes the Bible as his basis for faith and practice (John 17:17).After college, where he studied Math education, Dr. Herbster entered the business world and was employed as a sales representative and later as a manager for a worldwide company. It was during his professional years that Dr. Herbster was convicted of his need to invest his life in something eternal (I John 2:15-17). He left the business world, went to seminary, and later entered a graduate program where he completed his doctor of education degree (Ed.D.). He has served as a Christian school specialist and was president of the American Association of Christian Schools for 10 years. He was the Senior pastor of a large church with a Christian School in Independence, Missouri from 1983-2012. He knows the importance of families and education in our society and has always done what he could to develop and protect both.

Dr. Herbster got actively involved in Washington DC in the late 1980s because of the positive encouragement and advice of John Ashcroft, a former Missouri Governor and Senator and a former Attorney General of the United States of America. General Ashcroft knows that we need men and women of faith to participate in our government as salt and light (Matthew 5:13-16).
Today Dr. Herbster does all he can to protect the values and rights of the people, families, churches, and other organizations in our country who stand for righteousness (Proverbs 14:34). He is uniquely qualified and passionately motivated to successfully accomplish this goal and to lead the Center to Advance the USA (AdvanceUSA). |

What are the conservative causes that Advance Ambassadors are to represent to their members of Congress?
1. The Pro-Life Cause: Believing that the Declaration of Independence affirms the right to life and believing that God is the Giver of life at the moment of conception, AdvanceUSA is committed to the preservation of life in all stages of human development or decline. 2. The Pro-Family Cause: Believing that the family is the foundation of any free and productive society, and believing that God instituted the family for the benefit of nations and humanity, AdvanceUSA is committed to fighting to preserve the family. |

3. The Pro-Morality Cause: Believing that America’s greatness is linked to America’s goodness and believing that God says that righteousness exalts a nation, AdvanceUSA is committed to challenging our government to follow traditional, Judeo-Christian values in its lawmaking.
4. The Pro-Justice Cause: Believing that good is good and evil is evil, and believing that God established government for the praise of the good and the punishment of evil, AdvanceUSA is committed to supporting a Justice system that is fair and equitable.
5. The Pro-Religious Liberty Cause: Believing that the First Amendment guarantees the freedom of believers of all faiths to practice their faith in public and private, and believing that the Juberties as people of faith.
